When I first envisioned photographing Tanner McDaniel, I wanted to capture the essence of one of the most technical riders of all time. I wanted to connect the power of Pacific Ocean and surf the subject expresses his wave riding from it. I wanted to capture his demeanor and blend it with his abilities. I used light and color to create a unique mix that would transport viewers to the surf, character and personality that Tanner is.
